2023 Scholarship Awards
Students, faculty, and scholarship donors fellowshipped over dinner in the DC on April 18th. They gathered for the annual distribution of the privately-funded scholarship awards. Students were seated with their donors, giving them the opportunity to get to know each other and thank them in person for their generosity.
Fifty-eight scholarships, totaling over $65,000, were awarded to students for the 2023-2024 school year. Thirteen donors were present at the dinner.
Charis Dwire, one of the recipients of the Monty and Louise Budahl Memorial Scholarship, stated, “The Budahl Memorial Scholarship was the only scholarship I found that I was eligible for, and I didn’t think I would receive it since I assumed a lot of other music majors would also be applying to it. I am so glad I did receive it because it will help me attend a 4-week music academy this summer and be able to return to school again in the fall. Thank you so much to the Budahl and Robertson families!”
Dr. and Mrs. Budahl passed away in January 2021. Their children Hope Budahl Robertson and Seth Robertson began a scholarship fund in their honor. This was the scholarship’s inaugural year. Mrs. Robertson shared, “I can think of no better way to honor my parents’ many years of service and keep their memory alive than to help students who are actively pursuing the ministry in which they invested their lives.”
