New Faculty: Katie Borud Joins Education Faculty

Miss Katie Borud will be joining Maranatha’s School of Education as full-time Elementary Education faculty in the Fall of 2023.

Borud holds an MEd in Teaching and Learning and a BS in Education from Maranatha Baptist University. She taught for the last six years as a public school elementary teacher in grades one and four.

“I’m excited to join the education faculty at MBU,” Borud shares. “God clearly opened this door for an opportunity I wasn’t expecting or actively seeking. I’m confident that God has called me to Maranatha, and I’m eager to see the ways that God will use me in this new position. I am excited to join the faculty and become involved in mentoring and training new teachers.”

“My father, a science teacher, instilled in me an early love for science through hands-on activities and unique experiences, opportunities that I hope to share with my future MBU students,” she continued. “Many elementary teachers are unprepared or negative about teaching math and science, and I hope to help equip Maranatha graduates with the skills and attitudes to change that trend.

Dr. Thomas Graham, Dean of the School of Education, states, “Ms. Borud is a well-qualified educational professional with years of real-world Elementary classroom experience. We look forward to her joining our faculty and training our Elementary Education students in both the theoretical and practical applications necessary to become highly successful teachers.”

Miss Borud will begin her new teaching responsibilities in the Fall of 2023.
