Dr. Kevin Montney | New Human Resources Director
Maranatha welcomes back Dr. Kevin Montney as the Director of Human Resources and Corporate Counsel.
Montney was the Director of Human Resources and Assistant Corporate Counsel at Maranatha from 2012-2016. In his new role, Dr. Montney will also serve as a member of the Executive Council, Maranatha’s highest internal policy committee.
Since 2016, Montney worked as the Director of HR and Compliance at Bergstrom Automotive in Neenah, Wisconsin. He has taught for Maranatha Online and Distance Learning in the Master of Organizational Leadership since 2017.
“I left Maranatha feeling that God was leading me to the next phase of my career,” Dr. Montney shares, “but I never stopped caring about the ministry or people. I have remained friends with Matt Davis and Brenda Kurtz [HR Administrative Assistant] these past few years, and my wife and I started praying when they shared that the HR position was open. After some prayer, it started to become clear that God was calling us back. Once that was clear, we excitedly jumped at the opportunity to apply for the open position.”
“The thing I am most looking forward to about coming back is the people,” Montney continued. “I am excited to see so many great people I consider friends, and I look forward to meeting all the new people God has called to serve at the university.”
Dr. Matt Davis, CEO, states, “Dr. Kevin Montney’s return to MBU is a great blessing for the entire university. His enthusiasm for serving God with every fiber of his being is infectious! Dr. Montney’s immense professional ability is eclipsed only by his empathy for every individual which is plainly evident for all who interact with him. I am counting on him to lead our efforts to honorably care for our ministry team and I know he will do everything within his power to foster a culture of respect and personal initiative that encourages every member to maximize their ministry potential for God’s glory. He returns to Maranatha as a proven leader, a man dedicated to his family and local church ministry, and a committed advocate for accomplishing the mission in the lives of our students.”
Montney will begin on May 16, 2023. The Montney family will relocate from Oshkosh, Wisconsin on May 19.
