Alumnus Spotlight – Philip Ledgerwood

MBU alumnus Philip Ledgerwood (’15 Music Performance) recently received a Graduate Assistant position at Texas Tech University. As part of his graduate assistantship, Ledgerwood performs locally in the Graduate String Quartet and in the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. He is also an orchestra librarian, throwing him back to his undergraduate days when he filled the same position at MBU.

In addition to his Graduate Assistant position, Ledgerwood became a “JT and Margaret Talkington Fellowship” recipient, a fund supplied by the Talkingtons, who are generous and ardent promoters of the arts within Lubbock and West Texas. “This fellowship,” comments Ledgerwood, “is just one of many areas that their legacy is continued at Tech.”

Ledgerwood was also awarded an academic merit scholarship, based on his accomplishments at both Maranatha Baptist University and the University of Minnesota. He is enjoying his new position and is excited to see what other opportunities will come his way.
