Hannah Mayes

Hannah Mayes describes herself as “a driven individual who loves to share my passion for communication and the arts with others.” Her passion for learning, communication, and fine arts brought her to Maranatha, where she majored in Communication Arts and minored in Biblical Counseling. After graduating from Maranatha, Mayes continued her education, earning her M.A. in Theatre. She taught high school theatre and was a speech and debate coach before joining Maranatha’s online faculty to teach Communications. In 2022, she began Teaching Communications courses on campus and Speech at Maranatha Baptist Academy.
“I admired the passion and dedication the Maranatha family had (and still has) for quality education and Christlikeness while I pursued my degree.” Mayes states. She is delighted to have the opportunity “educate students on the importance of the arts and the even greater importance of viewing the arts and related skills through a Biblical worldview.”

MORE ABOUT HANNAH MAYES
Campus Involvement: Hannah has been the assistant director and technical director for several Maranatha plays and fine arts events including Fall Festival. She has also served every summer since 2018 as an assistant director for Maranatha Music and Drama Camp.
Community Involvement: Hannah works in the Waukesha School District as a fine arts and special education summer school substitute teacher.

Family: Hannah has been married to Aaron, another Maranatha graduate, since 2020.
Church Ministry: Hannah works as a teacher in the childrens’ and teen ministries at her church.
Other activities and interests: In addition to theatrical design and production, Hannah enjoys reading, writing, drawing, listening to podcasts, hiking, and serving friends and family with her husband.
