Marty Marriott

College of Bible and Church Ministries

Dr. Marty Marriott was named the fifth president of Maranatha on September 30, 2009 and took office January 1, 2010 for the spring semester. Prior to becoming President of MBU, Dr. Marriott planted a church in Tennessee and pastored in Pennsylvania and Michigan.  

As a Maranatha alumnus, Dr. Marriott has a unique perspective of Maranatha’s emphasis on developing leaders for the local church and ministry. After coming to Christ as a student at the University of Cincinnati, he attended Maranatha under the Cedarholm administration and developed a love for the college and its mission. He has served on Maranatha’s Board of Trustees since 1998. Dr. Marriott teaches part-time in the College of Bible and Church Ministries and Seminary.

Church MinistryDr. And Mrs. Marriott are members of a local church in Watertown. He frequently speaks in local churches and for events such as conferences, retreats, and men’s events.

FamilyDr. Marriott met his wife Miriam while in College. Miriam is a frequent women’s speaker and is actively involved in ministry to students on campus. They have three grown children, all of whom are married to MBU alumni and serve in full-time ministry. The Marriotts have 12 amazing grandchildren. 

Other activities and interestsDr. Marriott enjoys ministering and teaching on the mission field; reading articles on politics, current events, theology, and business; eating out with his wife; spending time with his grandchildren; and memorizing Scripture.
