S01E05 | Dr. Kevin Brosnan & Steve Love, D. Min.
March 22, 2022
Our first guest, Dr. Kevin Brosnan, an MBU alumnus, veteran missionary to South Africa, and Field Administrator for Europe and Central Asia with Baptist World Mission at the time of the podcast interview, begins this episode explaining how he, an admitted introvert with no background, felt everyone else was a better candidate for the Lord’s work than he was. Nonetheless, God called him. He and host Dr. Matt Davis examine phases of ministry, the balance between risk and faithfulness, a believer’s mandatory participation in missions, and how to end well.
Dr. Steve Love, [MBU ‘76], our second interviewee, an MBU associate professor who teaches missions classes, grew up in Brazil as a missionary son but was led into the pastorate. He and Dr. Davis discuss the personal goal of faithfulness and how expelled students can return to school and graduate. They note different factors motivating study for undergraduates and graduates. Then they focus on the need of gentleness and humility in pastoral care and how it translates into relationships with students.
