S03E09 | Season 3 Recap & Season 4 Preview
January 10, 2023
Season 3 included familiar faces from campus, beginning with “consummate student of the Word,” and resident Maranatha historian, Dr. Larry Oats, but the season also included encounters from afar. Interviews involved unusual locations—a busy college expo, a makeshift studio in a garage, and a barren field in India with chickens underfoot and a boisterous game of cricket in progress nearby. We heard from young leaders and retirees, professors, administration, and even a family member (host Dr. Matt Davis’s father-in-law). In the process, we crossed the one-year mark of podcast production.
Good things are in store for Season 4, not merely new conversations, “but a new way to consume those conversations”—new formats: video and livestreaming, with an occasional “side mission” (extra material that exceeded podcast time constraints, powerful brief thoughts not included in the interviews). Season 4 will bring us a church planter from Texas, a renowned apologist, a managing attorney of a national defense firm, and an MBU alumnus turned investigative columnist. These and others promise to inspire you as you seek to live on mission in your “corner of the world.”
