Personal Enrichment
There is no shortage of opportunities at Maranatha to enrich your musical talents. Expert faculty bring decades of experience to classes and personal lessons. Performing groups offer additional occasion to use your abilities to minister to others around the country.
Many students on campus not interested in earning a music degree take personal enrichment music courses/lessons/performing groups for academic credit. Two credits of music courses/lessons/performing groups count as part of your general core requirements.
Choosing a Degree
The music faculty strongly believe that every music student, regardless of the music degree type, needs to be an excellent musician. In fact, the music faculty are resolute that every student be challenged to develop his or her musical talents to the fullest potential. Unlike other universities, we do not encourage our best musicians to be performance majors, and our average musicians to be music education, pedagogy, or church music majors. Rather, we encourage our music students to choose a major that will best equip them for their future ministries and careers.
