
Timothy Johns

Timothy Johns is a graduate of Maranatha who joined the staff in 2001. He worked with the Student Life Office as Dorm Supervisor, Administrative Assistant, and Director of Security. In 2013, he was appointed Dean of Men, a position which he held for nine years. Since 2012, Mr. Johns has taught counseling classes in the College of Bible and Church Ministries in addition to his Student Life Office responsibilities. For the 2022-2023 academic year, Mr. Johns is transitioning out of the Student Life Office and will be a full-time faculty member in the College of Bible and Church Ministries.
Mr. Johns is looking forward to his full-time faculty role and the opportunity to teach more counseling courses. He said, “I love to see my brothers and sisters in Christ equipped to come alongside each other to support, care, and encourage Christlikeness.”
Mr. Mark Herbster, Dean of the College of Bible and Church Ministries, states, “Tim Johns has been involved in personal counseling at MBU for many years. He has gained so much experience by being the Dean of Men, and now I am thrilled to welcome him to our Bible faculty.”

Family: Tim and his wife, Heidi, were married in 2005 and have five children – two girls and three boys

Church Ministry: Tim is a deacon in his church and serves in the Nursery as well as on the Safety Group
