David Potter
Professor
Maranatha Baptist Seminary
Dr. David Potter joined the MBU faculty in 2021, teaching Seminary courses in Theology and New Testament. Dr. Potter brings a wealth of ministry experience to the classroom, having spent more than forty years in ministry. From 1978-1997, he served as Seminary Associate Professor and as an assistant pastor. Beginning in 1979, Dr. and Mrs. Potter served as missionaries with Baptist World Mission in the country of Hungary. During that time, he pastored a church and trained national leaders to plant new churches. He also traveled to Romania, Malaysia, India, Kenya and the Philippines teaching block classes in Greek, Bible Exposition, church history and theology.
Dr. Potter supplements course content with his experience, which helps students apply their theology to life and ministry. He is grateful to teach in a school that has advanced in its level of instruction while staying true to its separatist Baptist roots.
