This project explores the ideological origins and international implications of the American Revolution, the socio-political influence of the First Great Awakening and the debated transition from Articles of Confederation to the U.S. Constitution. Special emphasis is given to the precedent-setting Washington administration, the rise of political parties and the many challenges faced by the new nation. (3 credits) No prerequisites.
