John and Kathy Leber, together with friends, have established this scholarship in memory of their son, Jonathan, who went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2005. Jon was a Biblical Studies major at Maranatha who earned his pilot’s license in 2004 and was affectionately known as “Ace.” He was preparing to serve the Lord as a missionary pilot in the jungles of South America. This scholarship is awarded to a student who has a major or minor in missions or missions aviation and has clearly stated his or her intention of serving God on the mission field. The recipient must be a returning student and have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
