 Whether you’re an experienced science teacher or ready for a career change, our state-approved MAT-Science licensing program is the perfect way to advance your opportunities. This graduate degree program offers you professional certification as a science educator—equipping you with knowledge, classroom skills, and best practice instructional strategies. The MAT-Science licensing program includes mentored clinical experiences and student teaching and leads directly to a WI Secondary Broad Field Science license (grades 4-12).

    • A bachelor’s degree.
    • A grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
    • A minimum of 21 undergraduate credits in science.
    • A background check and fingerprinting

 

Testing Requirements

Praxis II General Science Exam # 5436.

A passing score is 141.

A passing score is 154.

Applicants who are admitted to the MAT program, however, will need to submit an official transcript to document course taken and grades earned prior to admission. Official transcripts from your undergraduate institution should be mailed to the following address:

Step Three

An Admissions counselor will review your bachelor’s degree to determine if you have met program entrance requirements.

Step Four

After prerequisites requirements have been satisfied, a background check and fingerprinting must be completed.

Step Five

When all prerequisites have been satisfied and a clean background check has been completed, applicants will be notified of their status for admissions by email.
