Alumni Spotlight

Ben and Beth Coronado (’17,’20)
Ben and Beth (Landers) Coronado currently live in Huntsville, AL. At MBU, Ben completed a BA in Pastoral Studies (’17) and an MA in Biblical Counseling (’20), and he now serves as a youth pastor for Calvary Baptist Church. He plans to earn an MDiv through Maranatha to expand his ministry. Beth graduated in 2016 in Communication Arts (photography) and has used her education in designing church and academy websites and promotional materials, coaching acting groups, and offering portrait photography. “God blessed me by providing this major as a way to improve my skills in areas that would be needed in our ministry today.”

Melodie (Bloyer) Lee (’19)
Melodie (Bloyer) Lee (’19) serves with her husband in a ministry to evangelize unreached people groups by providing Bibles and gospel literature. Melodie graduated with a Biblical Counseling degree and says MBU prepared her to seek God’s Word for truth and teach others that truth. “MBU showed me that God’s Word has answers to life’s problems—no matter how big or trivial. My confidence in God and the Bible were encouraged. I am not afraid to go to God with hard questions and know that He will give me answers.”

Nadine (Flack) Hall (’12)
Nadine (Flack) Hall (’12) graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Counseling. After she married Eric Hall (’11), she moved to Litchfield, MI, where her husband is the youth pastor at First Baptist Church. Her current ministry as a youth pastor’s wife relies heavily upon her counseling degree. Since she began her degree, she has counseled young women concerning teen pregnancies, sexual abuse, relationships, and general growth and discipleship. “Maranatha’s classes rooted me in . . . how to get to people’s hearts,” Nadine said. “I can now more clearly understand people’s heart problems from what they are expressing outwardly.”
