Degree Overview

If you could see yourself offering hope to hurting individuals through God’s word, consider Maranatha’s Biblical Counseling major. This degree program offers you an invaluable introduction to counseling skills and a solid theological base to teach right living, rebuke wrongdoing, correct wrong thinking, and train others in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).

 

Program Outcomes

  • Students will demonstrate the ability to explain and apply biblical concepts related to spiritual growth, human problems, and strategies for change.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to apply the historical-grammatical method of biblical exegesis and interpretation.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to articulate biblical doctrine in a systematic fashion.
  • Student will demonstrate the ability to communicate and apply biblical truth accurately and effectively.
  • Students will demonstrate dispositions of listening and relating to counselees for the purpose of leading them toward spiritual restoration and growth.
