4-16-2020 Pastor James Bouslog— Pastor James Bouslog, 66, of New Buffalo, MI, went to be with his glorious Lord and Savior Thursday, April 16, 2020. He was a wonderful husband, loving father and proud grandfather that will be greatly missed. He was born December 30, 1953, in Elwood, IN, to Jack Richard and Rosa Marie (Bryant) Bouslog. Jim attended Madison Heights High School with many of his friends and graduated in 1972. He met his wife Louann in 1969, his freshman year of high school. Jim graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible college in Watertown, WI, in 1980 and attended two years of Seminary School. The Lord blessed Jim and Louann with five wonderful children and twelve precious grandchildren. Jim was fortunate enough to travel to several countries for mission work. Telling others about Jesus Christ was very near and dear to his heart. He exemplified the love of Christ to others everywhere he went.
Jim served as Associate Pastor in Watertown, WI as well as West Hartford, CT. He served as Senior Pastor in Watseka, IL and was currently serving at Bible Baptist Church in New Buffalo, MI for the last 23 years. Jim enjoyed serving on the staff at Lakeview Funeral Home for the last ten years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, but especially his grandchildren. They spent many hours fishing, boating, hiking, and riding scooters. Jim was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and was able to recently attend the season opener for the 100th season. Jim and Louann shared almost 49 years of marriage and were blessed to live life and serve Christ together side by side. Jim loved life and was a shining light to all that were blessed to know him. He was loved by all who met him and he genuinely cared about people. Jim’s goal in life was to share Christ to others, so they could be assured of a home in Heaven. On August 28, 1971, at Eastland Christian Church, in Anderson, Indiana, he married his sweetheart and love of his life, Louann (Bassemer) Bouslog, who survives. A private graveside service will be held at Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, IN. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. 2-5-2020 Kent Harris — Kent Harris, 73, of Quakertown died February 5, 2020 in Life Quest Nursing Center, Milford Township. He is the husband of Ruth Vokoun Harris. Born in Narberth, PA he was the son of the late William McDougall Harris and of the late Mary (Richardson) Dunlap. Kent graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College with his Master of Divinity. His last employment was as a Quality Control Inspector for Stein Seal in Franconia for 11 years, before retiring. Kent was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sellersville. In addition to his wife Ruth, he is survived by a son Matthew K. and wife Kate of Pottstown. Three brothers; Bruce and his wife Reda of Hillsboro, KY, Glenn and his wife Linda of Pottstown, and Ross and his wife Patricia of Lansdale. Five grandchildren; Stephen Michael Harris, Ezra June Harris, Harlo Locke Harris, Hawthorne Jude Harris and Huxley Wit Harris. Predeceased by a daughter Aminta Louise Harris. Services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Baptist Church 754 E. Rockhill Rd. Sellersville, PA 18960. A visitation period will be held from 9:30-11:00 A.M. in the church.
12-24-2019 Amanda Jo Kesti — Amanda Jo Kesti age 32 of Porterfield, passed away on December 24, 2019. She was born to Reino and Karen Kesti on September 10, 1987. She graduated from Faith Christian School in Coleman in 2006 after high school she graduated from Maranatha Baptist University in 2010 with a bachelors Science Degree in biology. She worked at Walgreens in Marinette for the past 3 years. She had a passion for gardening and playing chess. She enjoyed reading and drawing. She is survived by her loving parents Reino and Karen Kesti and one sister Sarah (Wanpynshngain) Nongspung and her loving friends at Walgreens.
10-25-2019 Terry A. Price –Terry A. Price, pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church, died in the early morning of Oct. 25. Terry ministered as a youth pastor in his home church, Calvary Baptist Church, Lansdale, Pennsylvania, from 1968 to 1971. He then worked at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College from 1971 to 1984 as dean, Bible and history teacher, and football coach and at Maranatha Baptist University from 1984 to 2013 as dean, football coach, athletic director, and Bible and Church Ministry Department head and teacher. While he worked at MBU, he led the football team in missions trips to France (1995), Ireland (1998), and Israel (2012); ministered as an assistant pastor for three years; and served in four interim pastorates. MBU has said that Terry built a “permanent legacy of godliness” into his players. When the football program at MBU ended in 2017, the school said that the coaches succeeding Terry “worked tirelessly with their players to build upon the solid foundation of retired Coach Terry Price in developing the character of the young men.” He began pastoring Maranatha Baptist Church in 2013 and held an EdD from Temple Baptist Seminary. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Colene; three sons; and nine grandchildren.
10-23-2019 Nancy Evans — Nancy A. Evans,50, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in Abilene after a short illness. She was born November 13, 1968, in Port Huron, Michigan, the daughter of Carl E. and Diane J. (Ramage) Evans. Growing up in the Port Huron area, Nancy attended local schools, graduated from Trinity Baptist Academy and Maranatha Baptist University, and earned her Masters degree from Pensacola Christian College in Florida. Immediately after graduating, she was hired by the Abilene Baptist Academy where she taught for 28 years and worked for McDonalds for many years. Nancy enjoyed reading, horses, and her students. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Nancy is survived by her father of Kimball, Michigan; sister Beth (Matt) McPhillips of Kimball, Michigan; brother David (Tammy) Evans of Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 25th, at the Abilene Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Carson Johnson officiating. Final resting place will be in the Woodland Cemetery in Port Huron Township, Michigan with Pastor Matt McPhillips officiating.
8-28-2019 Margie M. Gersdorf — Margie M. Gersdorf, age 88, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. She was born on September 19, 1930 to Elsie and Leonard “Tiny” Evers in Randall Valley, South Dakota. Margie was most recently employed at Maranatha Baptist University. She loved her Lord, her family, and church. She excelled in track and field when she was younger, qualifying for the Olympics in high school. Margie is survived by her three daughters, Cheryl Bryan, Kristie Gersdorf and Linda (Jim) Stevens, 8 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown with Pastor Jon Anderson officiating. Memorials may be given in Margie’s name to Faith Baptist Church of Oconomowoc.
2-19-2019 Rebecca Flegal — Rebecca R. Flegal, 31, of Watertown went home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Watertown Hospital. Rebecca was born on December 5, 1987 in Monroe, Wisconsin. She is the daughter of James and Joyce (Currie) Jensen. In her home town of New Glarus, Wisconsin she married Benjamin Flegal on May 10, 2014 and the couple enjoyed 4 years of marriage. Rebecca was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown and worked for many years as an administrative assistant for Maranatha Baptist University. Rebecca enjoyed life; she had a very outgoing personality and was known by many as helpful, reliable, resourceful, and spunky. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her husband visiting zoos, museums, and libraries; above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Rebecca was a loving and beloved wife and was loved by many and will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known her. Rebecca is survived by her husband, her parents, Sister Katheryn (Jon) Eads, Father and Mother in law Gregory and Linda Flegal, Brother in law Matthew (Becky) Flegal, Sisters in law Jeannie (Ken) Schoonbeck, Hannah Flegal, and Lydia Flegal. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rebecca is preceded in death by her Grandparents.

Rob (’71) and Debby (Schultz, ’71) Adams – Rob is currently working on his Masters of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary and work at the Choristers Guild, a Christian music publishing company in Dallas. As of October 2nd, he has been recognized as a recipient of the 2019 Nathan D. Maier Award in Bible Exposition presented by Dallas Theological Seminary. The award is presented to those who exemplify the qualities of servant leadership described in John 13:1-17 and demonstrate outstanding ability in the department of Bible Exposition.
Harmony (’18) Bailey – Harmony is a full-time wedding and portrait photographer. After graduation she moved to Ludington to start her career as a photographer. She was able to get an internship right out of college which gave her the boost she needed to get her business rolling. Having booked 10 weddings and assisting in over 20, she could never have imagined she would be where she is today just a year out of college.
Rachel (’17) Bates – Aside from photography, Rache loves to work in office administration. Through her job and classes at Maranatha, she has learned skills that have led her to do part-time secretarial office work in the winter season.
Josh (’05) and Anna (’05) Beutler – Josh is the pastor at Grace Baptist in Washington, UT. He recently started a part time job at a hardware supply store. Anna homeschools 3 of their six children. And volunteers at the grade school where 2 of the others attend. They have taken classes for and are working toward becoming certified foster parents.
Jeff (’79) and Cindy (’79) Borchardt– Jeff pastors Anchor Bible Church and helps with MBU’s men’s basketball team. Cindy works as a hygiene coordinator at Area Dental Associates. Please pray for church growth and both of their parents who suffer from various health needs.
Aaron (’16) and Annie Chan – Aaron is the administrative pastor of River City Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL. Annie also serves at their church where her main roles include overseeing church operations, events, finances, and playing the piano for worship services.
Tim (’84) and Deb (’96) Fair – Tim owns a technology consulting business where he writes tailored-made software for businesses and project managing developers. Please pray for their children as they come into college age and are making decisions about life direction.
Tom (’82) and Susan Frantz – Tom is the senior pastor at Blissfield Baptist Church. He and his wife just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary as well as our 20th year at Blissfield. They have three children who are all out of the house, married and serving the Lord in their church or in their own local church. They have been blessed with 5 grandchildren with number six expected in January.
Alyssa (’17) Kowach – Alyssa is working in childcare, so she can save money for grad school. God-willing she will start attending graduate school in Spain or in Texas during the fall of next year. Her prayer is to become a missionary for Bibles International.
Tim and Tammy (’91) Lacock – Tim is the pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada. They have been there for 2 years now. It is a big change from the 14 years in rural Utah. Tammy homeschools their daughter and uses her Business degree dispatching truckers, and bookkeeping for small companies in the states.
Mike (’13) Marshall – Mike is a missionary to the military with Armed Forces Baptist Missions. He serves as an evangelist traveling to churches helping them establish outreaches for those serving their community.
Mark (’81, ’82) and Karen (’80) Montgomery – Mark currently serves at Ambassador Baptist Church. Please pray that God would continue to use them to reach their community.
Josh (’11) and Annie (’11) Moore – Josh is the Pastor of Carrick Baptist Church in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, Republic of Ireland. They have been serving the Lord in Ireland since January 1, 2016. Annie is involved in ladies and children’s ministry at the church and also cares for our children: Cian (5) and Eva (3) and Rory (8 months).
Nathan (’13) and Helen (’15) Moore – Nathan is the Program Director at Camp Joy and Helen stays home with their daughter. Please pray that they would have wisdom on how to best serve their campers and staff.
Melissa (’10) Mulder – Melissa is working as an itinerant teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing with Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency. She serves in her local church in the nursery and music ministry. Please pray as she travels from school to school and that God would provide wisdom as she works with these special children.
Terry (’70) and Judith (’70) Pergl – Terry is presently pastoring the Memorial Baptist Church of Rockford IL. In November, he will celebrate 10 years at Memorial totaling 47 years of pastoral ministry. He is Vice President of the AIBCI and serves on the advisory board of Camp Joy. In 2009 he received an honorary Doctorate from PCC. Also, he is presently an adjunct professor at North Love Baptist Bible College. Judi (Holtz) and Terry have been married 49 years and counting!
Bob and Georgean Radford – Even though he retired in 2006 as a faculty member of MBU, Bob continues to teach Bible courses. He goes to India to teach in a Bible college and seminary for 2 months each year. He also hosts annual 13-day tours to Israel.
Lydia (’14) Scott – Lydia currently teaches English in Hong Kong. She also participates in music ministry in her local church. Please pray as she seeks evangelistic and discipleship opportunities with her students and colleagues. She is also praying for faithfulness in searching for ways to show God’s love in a culture that clashes with the message of the gospel.
Thomas (’80, ’81) and Marilyn (’81) Stout – Thomas is currently the Senior Pastor at Volinia Baptist Church. Please pray for them as they have started a college and are looking to build a Christian school.
Randy and Faith (Potter, ‘76) White – Randy and Faith are retired Christian school teachers. They are both involved in the music ministry at Inter-City Baptist Church. Randy is a deacon, and Faith is a leader in the ladies’ ministries.
Dean (’86) and Robin McGary – Dean is the Administrator of Tabernacle Baptist Academy. He is a deacon and teaches Sunday School as a substitute for several of their adult classes as well as sings in the choir.
